Aerated Polythene™ Advanced Plant Protection Fabric
|
If you have ever had problems ripening your fruit and vegetables, EcoGreen™
Aerated Polythene is the fabric you need as it has been specially developed for the job.
It’s perfect for ripening melons, strawberries, chillies, peppers, tomatoes and other similar fruit and
vegetable, when they’re grown outside, without the benefit of a greenhouse to help promote ripening.
The lightweight polythene sheet has unique perforations that perform two vital functions. The holes are
just large enough - 20mm (0.8in) in diameter – to allow easy access for pollinating insects, which means
that you can leave the polythene on your crops throughout the season, without the need to remove it for
pollination. The perforations also allow air and moisture to circulate freely around the plants, keeping
them healthy and reducing any risk of mildew or disease.
EcoGreen™ Aerated Polythene is light enough to rest directly on the leaves of plants or can be laid over
a framework. The sheet size is a generous1.8 metre wide (approx 5ft 10in) and can be cut to size from the
total length of 10 metres (approx 33ft). The edges should be secured to the ground at about 1 metre (3ft)
intervals using EcoGreen™ Ground Pegs, making sure you leave enough slack for future plant growth.
The Aerated Polythene also provides some protection for your crops, keeping off the birds and is ideal
for covering areas of newly sown lawn. When laid flat on the ground it retains warmth and moisture which
stimulates seed germination. Its pale green colour makes it as unobtrusive as possible in your garden.

Green Fleece Advanced Plant Protection Fabric

When you need to wrap up your plants or cover up your vegetables and fruit,
the EcoGreen™ Fleece Blanket provides instant weather and pest protection from a single layer. The
extra-thick 30gsm fleece is double the weight of the usual bulk roll fleece and gives your plants the
best possible frost protection and insulation from cold.
The sheet size is a generous 1.8 metre wide (approx 5ft 10in) and can be cut to size from the total
length of 10 metres (approx 33ft) – so enough to cover even the largest of vegetable patches. The
natural-green colour helps it blend in against the backdrop of garden foliage.
The Fleece Blanket also provides effective, organic pest protection for fruit and vegetables. It’s
particularly useful for carrot fly and cabbage root fly, but make sure the edges are securely anchored
to the ground (EcoGreen™ Ground Pegs are designed specially for the job) leaving enough slack for future
plant growth.
Whilst benefiting from the extra protection, your crops will stay healthy and thrive, as the fleece is
fully permeable, letting in enough air, light and moisture to maintain vigorous growth.

Micromesh™ Advanced Plant Protection Fabric
|
Insects can cause all sorts of problems when you grow your own fruit and
vegetables, but our new EcoGreen™ Micromesh provides the ultimate organic solution. You can protect your
growing crops from all types of pest, without the use of nasty chemical insecticides.
The ultra-fine mesh is only 0.6mm, which is small enough to keep out Cabbage Root Fly, Carrot Fly, White
Fly, Onion Fly, Flea Beetle, Vine Weevil and Aphids and others, also bees, wasps, Cutworm and other
caterpillars, moths and butterflies.
Slugs and snails are a bit more tricky – burying the edges of the mesh in a 10-20cm deep trench can help
deter them. Micromesh also acts as an effective barrier against larger pests such as birds, wildlife and
domestic pets, and will provide some protection against weather damage, such as wind and hail.
Micromesh provides a physical barrier to all common garden pests, but allows air and moisture through so
your plants stay healthy and well nourished. Even better, there’s no need to remove it when watering or
giving liquid feed, just apply directly through the mesh.
Available in a large sheet size of 1.8 metres wide (approx 5ft 10in) by 5 metres long (approx 16ft 5in),
it can be used as a single sheet or can be cut down to fit. Lay it either directly over your plants or
over a framework, but make sure you leave enough slack for future plant growth. We advise using the
EcoGreen™ Ground Pegs to anchor the edges to the ground at approximately 1 metre (3ft) intervals.
Its pale green colour makes it as unobtrusive as possible in your garden. It is re-usable and, if looked
after, it will last for up to 10 years. Definitely a must-have for any keen gardener that wants top
quality, home-grown produce.
